We set honed marble, Calacatta, limestone, travertine, and large-format porcelain that reads as one continuous surface. Every layout is drawn before the first cut, and every substrate is brought dead level so grout lines stay tight and no tile rocks. It is work that still looks freshly set after a decade of Maine winters.
You approve the layout twice: first on paper, as a drawing of every course and cut, then at dry-lay, with the actual tile loose on the floor. Only after both do we mix thinset.
The result is a Calacatta floor that runs unbroken from the door to the window, flat and quiet underfoot.

We draw the full layout to your room before a single cut, so every seam and edge is decided on paper, not improvised on site.

Level and sealed
The substrate is flattened beyond industry tolerance and wet surfaces sealed as a certified, warrantied system.

Set and checked
One craftsman sets the last piece, and the finished surface is checked flat and true before the grout goes in.

We map the full layout to your room first, placing seams out of the main sightlines and cuts where they will not be read.

Which stones and tiles do you install?
Honed marble, Calacatta, limestone, travertine, large-format porcelain, and stone and glass mosaic. If it can be set true, we set it.
How do you keep large-format tile from lipping?
We flatten the substrate beyond industry tolerance before any tile goes down and back-butter for full contact. The surface stays flush edge to edge with no rocking.
Do you draw the layout before starting?
Always. The full layout is drawn to your room before the first cut, so seams and cut pieces land where the eye forgives them rather than in the middle of a sightline.
Do you match new tile into an existing floor?
Yes. We source the closest available match, feather the layout, and set transitions so a repair or extension reads as part of the original, not a patch.
How long does a tile installation take?
It depends on the size and material, but we plan the schedule up front and give you a realistic finish date before we start, rather than leaving you guessing.
